After years of working in and with general commercial real estate brokerages throughout the Pacific Northwest, in 2004 Joseph & Michelle Kennedy, in conjunction with veteran hotel broker Robert Burkette, decided to branch out on their own. The founders positioned Crystal Investment Property as a specialty brokerage solely focused on serving the needs of hotel owners and hospitality investors in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana. While in the years following the birth of CIP, Bob moved into a consultant role, retired in 2005, and then passed away in 2010, the founders’ shared commitment and vision have persisted under Kennedy’s stewardship.

Michelle L. Kennedy, Partner & Principal/Designated Broker
As Partner and Principal/Designated Broker, Michelle is responsible for operations oversight, transaction management, marketing coordination, and general back-office systems. Michelle has assembled a team of talented web and marketing designers and behind-the-scenes assistants which allows her to focus resources as needed to meet the diverse needs of each CIP client.
Michelle has a 20-year background in administration, real estate and legal education, contracts, and operations management for regional commercial real estate firms.

Justin K. Beck, Project Manager & Investment Associate
As Director of Operations, Justin coordinates Administration, Brokers, and Marketing workflow. He brings with him project management experience from the creative, engineering, and software industries. Justin’s unique knowledge and skillset keep CIP at the forefront of the hospitality industry. By streamlining our internal processes, he has allowed the CIP team to focus on our clients and their needs. Justin is also a licensed Oregon real estate broker.

Chelsea M. Anderson, Broker Assistant
As a Broker Assistant, Chelsea helps our Principal Broker facilitate successful hotel transactions. Chelsea maintains client accounts and database information. She manages client correspondence, prepares transaction documents, and organizes critical document workflow.
Chelsea is a proud San Diego State University alumni and a broker in training. In the next year, Chelsea will become a licensed Oregon real estate broker. And, like all CIP brokers, her focus will be on hospitality properties and the hospitality market.

Hanna P. Kennedy-Bennett, Broker Assistant
Hanna has been with CIP for 4+ years working as an Executive Assistant. She is currently a Broker Assistant and in training for her Oregon broker license. Hanna maintains client accounts and database information. She manages client correspondence, prepares transaction documents, and organizes critical document workflow.
Hanna is a proud wife, and mother, with deep ties in the Pacific Northwest. She is well versed in all that the PNW has to offer, and brings with her an in-depth knowledge of the local communities.

Teri G. Beck, Marketing Director
As Marketing Director, Teri develops a brand strategy and marketing guidelines for our company. She oversees a wide array of business functions including branding, communication channels, product development, online and offline promotions, and market research. She brings expertise in both the latest digital and social media marketing tools and hands-on experience across multiple roles in the graphic design and website development industries.
Teri comes from a background in advertising, marketing, and museum design, where she focused on creating compelling narratives and sharing information in a way that connects deeply with visitors. The hospitality industry is the perfect blending of architecture, business, investment, and user experience.
Iain M. Kennedy, Marketing Associate
As a Marketing Associate, Iain is responsible for planning and implementing marketing and advertising strategies for listings, advertising campaigns, and analyzing market trends. He is instrumental in tracking marketing performance, social media branding and outreach, property marketing materials, as well as internal marketing reports for clients.
