About Resources

For hotel owners who are looking to make the best out of a tough situation, we’ve put together a list of resources for converting your current hotel for use during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency as a relief shelter.

If you get more specific or detailed information, please email CIP directly so we can help share the most accurate and up to date information with other hotel owners and managers. We’re all in this together – thanks for your help!

FEMA Resources

I have hotel/motel space I’d like to make available for this emergency, how do I get started?

FEMA is currently identifying interest from the lodging industry on hotels that may want to provide shelter for individuals who may need to quarantine. The National Business Emergency Operations Center will note your information for its records.

In addition, we recommend that you register your business for the FEMA Transitional Survivor Assistance Program.

As of March 23, 2020 – FEMA is not currently deploying this program for the COVID-19 pandemic response, registering does put you in our national database for hotels available to support disaster survivors.

We encourage prospective hotels to visit the Emergency Lodging Assistance program website (https://ela.corplodging.com/) to create an account and make sure to stay informed on activation alerts, comprehensive program news, and updates.
