Joseph Kennedy is CIP’s President and lead Broker. Joe is a 40-year hotel and restaurant industry veteran who has held positions with Hyatt and Gilbert & Robinson.
With an impressive track record of hotel closings, CIP has become one of the leading hotel brokerage companies in the Pacific Northwest. Joe’s customer base ranges from individual property owners to regional management companies to international real estate ownership companies. CIP has worked with many of these clients on a repeat basis through multiple successful transactions.

Michelle L. Kennedy, Partner & Principal/Designated Broker
As Partner and Principal/Designated Broker, Michelle is responsible for operations oversight, transaction management, marketing coordination, and client outreach. Michelle has assembled a team of talented web and marketing designers, operations and investment brokers, and broker assistants, allowing her to focus resources as needed to meet the diverse needs of each CIP client.
Michelle has a 30+ year background in administration, real estate and legal education, contracts, and operations management for regional commercial real estate firms.

Hanna P. Kennedy-Bennett, Broker
Hanna has been with CIP for years, working as an Executive Assistant, then a Broker’s Assistant, an Associate Broker, and now as a Broker. She is currently a licensed Oregon broker assisting with transaction management, maintaining client accounts, and listing documentation. She works with Broker Assistants, overseeing client correspondence, preparing transaction documents, and organizing critical document workflow.
Hanna is a proud wife and mother with deep ties to the Pacific Northwest. She is well-versed in all the PNW offers and brings in-depth knowledge of the local communities.

Justin K. Beck, Director of Operations & Investment Associate
As Director of Operations, Justin coordinates Administration, Brokers, and Marketing workflow. He brings with him project management experience from the creative, engineering, and software industries. As a licensed Oregon Real Estate Broker, Justin’s unique knowledge and skillset keep CIP at the forefront of the hospitality industry. He has allowed the CIP team to focus on our clients and their needs by streamlining our internal processes.

Teri G. Beck, Marketing Director
As Marketing Director, Teri develops our company’s brand strategy and marketing guidelines. She oversees our marketing department and ensures consistency through branding, communication channels, market research & development, online presence, and offline promotions.
Teri comes from a background in advertising, marketing, and design, where she focused on creating compelling narratives and sharing information in a way that connects deeply with clients. The hospitality industry combines her love of architecture, business, investment, and user experience.
Established In 2004
After years of working in and with general commercial real estate brokerages throughout the Pacific Northwest, in 2004, Joseph & Michelle Kennedy, in conjunction with veteran hotel broker Robert Burkette, decided to branch out on their own. The founders positioned Crystal Investment Property as a specialty brokerage solely focused on serving the needs of hotel owners and hospitality investors in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana. While in the years following the birth of CIP, Bob moved into a consultant role, retired in 2005, and then passed away in 2010, the founders’ shared commitment and vision have persisted under Kennedy’s stewardship.
CIP Expands Services
In 2018, we realized that in order to realize our vision for the future, CIP would need to grow, expand, and step up our game. We looked to the expertise in our immediate family and saw that we had not only the skill set but also the relationships necessary to make CIP the premier Pacific Northwest brokerage.
It was in 2018 that we brought on full-time marketing, social media outreach, broker assistants, and operations to ensure we were able to foster and maintain the long-term relationships that we hold so dear. In 2019, 2020, and 2022, we celebrated our newest broker team members. By having trained brokers at every level (from operations to designated brokers), regardless of role in the company, we are able to better serve our clients.
The CIP Team Is Family
You may have noticed that our team has a lot in common. Every team member (yes, even those without the Kennedy last name) is related to Joe and Michelle. Teri and Justin (sister/brother-in-law), and Hanna (niece)…we aren’t like family – we ARE family.
Because we are family, every member of the CIP Team works together to grow our clients’ portfolios while maintaining a healthy work/life balance. Unlike other brokerages, we operate as a family—everyone looks out for each other, from the smallest detail to the largest deal.
